AUTHENTIC, ANTIQUE, MODEL 1831 FRENCH INFANTRY / ARTILLERY SHORT SWORD with LEATHER SCABBARD with ORIGINAL FROG ~ It is mounted with a blade that measures 19-1/8 inches in length which remains in good condition with only minor surface pitting scars. The blade is well marked by the maker “Pihet Frères” on one side and on the other side is marked “Chatellerault” as well as is dated “1833”. The ribbed brass hilt also remains in nice condition and wears the number “37” on one side. The leather scabbard is brass fitted and remains healthy with all the stitching tightly in place as well as continues to wear the original leather frog. Overall measuring 26 inches in length.
