SUPERB PAIR of RARE, ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, ANTIQUE ~ 1800’s ~ U.S. BRIGADIER GENERAL’S EPAULETS / SHOULDER-BOARDS IN THEIR ORIGINAL TIN BOX CASE / CONTAINER ~ These Epaulets were in service from the Indian War through the Spanish American War period ~ They are in magnificent condition, retaining much of their luster, due to being kept in their original tin case that has protected them from dust and damage ~ Single Embroidered Brigadier General Stars are mounted on a Lined Golden Silk Field ~ with Eagle Buttons and Gilded Brass Crescents draped with beautiful Bullion ~ These Are Truly Outstanding! The bottom surfaces are covered in a combination of Red Velvet and matching Leather and have Brass Mounting Plates marked: “Left” and “Right.” Stenciled on the inside surface of the Original japanned case cover are the following markings: “Shannon, Miller & Crane / Military Goods / 768 Broadway / New York.” ~ Epaulets Measure Approximately 7-1/2 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 4 inches high (including the Gold Bullion) ~ The Oval shaped Box Measures Approximately 9-3/4 inches x 7-1/2 inches x 6-1/2 inches ~ mx-9261 ~ ITEM # mi-111 ~ ($1,500.) ~
